One of the sad facts about Social Media sites are as they grow big they basically seem to forget were they came from. As they grow they look towards the bigger companies and larger contracts leaving small businesses with less options, tighter restrictions, no safeguards and a we don’t care attitude.
After reviewing the complaints people have including myself it appears that customer service is hugely lacking. Direct questions are no longer answered. customer service has a cut and paste approach and the big company takes on an adversarial attitude they would rather prove you wrong then do what is right.
After pointing out errors in their judgments and requesting a resolution all communications ceased.
The problem was for years I’ve used buy-able pins with very limited success. I devised a method to organically build traffic to my website. Recently I started getting sales with more frequency and they cut me off. I complied with them and they used some old pins that were dead links “in my feed” as examples. None of the products they listed were on my website. When I let them know the dialog ended.
I checked the BBB rating for them it is an “F” which is very poor. Even Walmart has a “D” which is far better. The most common complaint was customer service complaints.There was no person to speak with and the majority of any responses were cut and paste from the website. These dot coms become disconnected with the community that helped build them up and consider us all information and data sources to be exploited and used. as more of this comes to light there will be more congressional hearings.
In the User agreement it says boldly we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone and we can remove you and work at anytime for any reason.We had those kind of policies in the south during segregation. The internet is no longer the free place it used to be as these Behemoths decide out policies for Social Interaction. A peer to peer system that eliminates these middlemen, that allows encryption of our data and ensures our right to privacy in our communications will be at the forefront in our futures.
I won’t be spending any Ad dollars with anyone that stifles the free expression of thoughts ideas and products with censorship and political self righteousness.
